We can arrange the booking and pre-payment of cars through Europcar, a major international car rental company, who provide a modern fleet of quality vehicles and a reliable service. Drivers must be 25 years of age.

If you are aged between 19 and 24 it is possible to rent certain vehicles at a surcharge. Please contact us for further details. All drivers should have held a driving licence for at least two years.

Type of car

If for any reason Europcar do not have available a car in the group you requested, they will, subject to availability supply you with a higher grade of car at no extra cost. Remember when choosing the group of car that luggage space is limited. Baby/infant seats (compulsory for children up to 4 years of age) must be booked in advance at Euro 43.80 per rental payable locally (Italian rentals) or Euro 12.20 per day payable locally (Croatian rentals).

Collecting your car

All drivers will be asked to sign the Conditions of Hire, making the contract between each driver and Europcar. Additional drivers can be added at an additional cost of Euro 4.00 per day payable locally (Italian rentals) or Euro 12.20 per rental payable locally (Croatian rentals). You will also be asked to leave a deposit with Europcar to cover any items not included in the rental price such as road tax, petrol, refuelling charges, and excess in the event of damage or theft. It is normal that you will be asked to sign a blank credit card slip for this. Be assured this will only be used if additional charges were accepted at the time of rental, you do not manage to return the car with a full tank of petrol or if the car is damaged or stolen.

Where to collect and leave your car

Your car will be available at your arrival airport. In some cases it may be collected at a station or downtown. You may return the car to a different location to the pick up point within the same country without any additional charge (Croatian rentals) or at an additional cost of Euro 46.80 payable locally (Italian rentals). International one-way rentals are not permitted. Rates are based on series of 24 hours days. There is a tolerance of 30 minutes at the end of the rental after which it becomes an additional day's hire, payable by you locally if not booked and pre-paid in the UK.

Included in the rental price

Unlimited mileage, Collision Damage Waiver(CDW), Theft Waiver(TW), Third Party cover, licenses, fees, VAT.

What is not included in the rental price

Petrol and refuelling costs; delivery and collection; additional drivers; child seats; excess payable in the event of the vehicle being stolen or damaged*; one way drop charge (applicable to Italian rentals only).

* All rentals are insured but you are liable to pay the excess locally of between Euro 366 and Euro 1,300 in the event that the vehicle is damaged or between Euro 366 and Euro 2600 in the event that the vehicle is stolen (exact amount depends on car group and country of collection). A top up insurance of between Euro 6 and Euro 24 per day(depending on car group and country of collection) can be arranged and paid locally so that the driver is exempt from payment of these excesses- please contact us for full details. Please note that top up insurance does not cover thefts in the Italian regions of Campania and Apulia.

CAR HIRE COLLECTIONS FROM ITALY

Transit is allowed into Slovenia and Croatia at a supplement of Euro 6 per day payable locally.

Cars collected in Italy must be returned to a Europcar location in Italy.
